About us
History of camping Orisant
Camping Orisant opened over the Ascension Day weekend of 1988, during the start of the real camping season. Jan and Cora Verburg founded this family business and put their heart and soul into it. The first mobile homes were placed, which drew the first regular guests. Since then, many of the original guests still come to camping Orisant - now with their grandchildren.
Slowly, the campers and caravans showed up as well. Over the following years, there was more than enough to do: furnishing the toilet buildings, building add-ons, planting the grounds, new connections and improving the roads. Also, the first bungalows were built.
The campsite grew into a calm, green place to stay with a loyal family of regular guests who truly enjoy everything the Oosterschelde area has to offer.
Coming home to a holiday
It's a family campsite run by a family. After 19 years, it really feels like coming home to us. Large and beautiful pitches. There is an entertainment team for the youngsters.

Private amenities
Just across the dike is a sea swimming area, there is no current so it’s a great spot for the kids to play. The swimming area is fed with clean water from the Oosterschelde. The beach also has a small playground and is only three minutes from your caravan or tent!
A running track measuring over 400 metres has been built just outside the campsite and there is a filling station for diving cylinders. The station is open all year, from 8:00 am to 9:30 pm. Also, there is a rinsing tank for wet suits and a storage area for diving equipment.
The campsite also has a number of motor home stations, so we can offer you the option to holiday in your camper van too!
Cooperation Oosterschelde Campsites
Through the founding of the Oosterschelde Campsite Group, we have built a good relationship with the Oosterschelde National Park (NPO). Camping Orisant, together with its Oosterschelde Campsite partners, forms a necklace of information points for the NPO.
In June 2009, the beach was renovated extensively and since then, we’ve added a bicycle path beside the water, and a practical passageway from the campsite. In the spring of 2010, the beach was provided with dunes so they would hold the sand better and to create cosy dune hollows. We hope to continue in this way, working on a great spot for all our guests.
